Keynote Speakers & Prelim Program Announced For 2023 AES Conference On Spatial And Immersive Audio

Event slated for August 23-25 at the University of Huddersfield in the UK will offer keynotes by multiple Grammy winning engineer Andrew Scheps, composer Natasha Barrett and professor Stefania Serafin, who focuses on creating multisensory experiences.

The Audio Engineering Society has announced three keynote speakers as well as the preliminary program for the upcoming 2023 AES International Conference on Spatial and Immersive Audio slated for August 23-25 at the University of Huddersfield, UK.

Over the course of three days, participants will have the opportunity to engage in workshops, witness captivating demonstrations, delve into peer-reviewed and express papers, and engage in in-person networking sessions. Keynote speakers include:

— Multiple Grammy Award-winning engineer Andrew Scheps, who’s worked with artists such as Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, U2, and many more, and who has been venturing into the Dolby Atmos platform.

— Composer Natasha Barrett, noted for her innovative approach to sound and utilization of 3D sound technology. Her works span concert compositions, public space soundart installations, and multimedia interactive music. She’s received 20 international awards, including the Nordic Council Music Prize and multiple honors from the Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Awards.

— Stefania Serafin, a professor of Sonic Interaction Design at Aalborg University in Copenhagen, who focuses on creating multisensory experiences and has been instrumental in developing the university’s Sound and Music Computing Master program.
