HARMAN Professional Solutions has announced that FIR filter tunings are now available for select JBL Professional Control Contractor Series loudspeakers, designed to optimize both frequency response and phase response to a finer degree.
Meeting JBL’s new V6 FIR tuning standard, the new filters are stated to provide:
— Equalization to a neutral frequency response;
— Improved linearized phase response above 300 Hz;
— Starting with a known flat voicing for further equalization to the needs of the application;
— Improved signal coherence;
— Matched gain to allow for smoother system tuning and subwoofer integration.
The V6 FIR tunings are for COL600 and COL800, SLP12/T and SLP14/T, GSF6 and GSF8, and Control 68HP models. They are for use with Crown DCI-N and DCI-DA power amplifiers, and additional tuning files are expected to be released for Crown CDI DriveCore amplifiers in the near future.
All Control Contractor Series models are equipped multitap transformers for use in distributed systems and are switchable for direct operation. The series is designed aesthetically to complement a range of décors and finishes.
