JBL Loudspeakers Installed In The PBR Rock Bar

The JBL system was provided by systems integration firm R2W.

Adding another option to the Las Vegas bar, restaurant and nightclub scene, systems integration firm R2W recently designed and installed a complete JBL loudspeaker system the PBR Rock Bar to support all audio from background restaurant music to televised sporting events and live rock concerts.

The 1,100-capacity venue, located in the Miracle Mile complex at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Hotel, combines a rock and roll atmosphere with a nightclub, American grill, more than 100 high-definition televisions and a mechanical bull.

In addition, the PBR Rock Bar’s main dining hall transforms into a stage for live performances after dark.

R2W installed 21 JBL AM7212/95 12-inch full-range 2-way loudspeakers, five ASB6125 high-power dual subwoofers, eight AC28/26 2-way loudspeakers and four Control 24CT 2-way ceiling speakers for the 13,000 square-foot dining/bar area, along with 15 JBL Control 28T-60 2-high-output speakers for the 3,000-square foot outdoor patio area.

The PBR Rock Bar, which is licensed under the Professional Bullriders Association, also features BSS Soundweb London BLU-160, BLU-120 and BLU-8 for multi-zone control and signal distribution.

“Having worked with JBL loudspeakers for years, we have a lot of experience with the brand and these particular models. We are aware of the excellent cost-to-performance ratio that comes with JBL,” said David Starck, system engineer for the Las Vegas-based R2W.

“Combining multiple series of loudspeakers from JBL, we supplied the Rock Bar with a system that easily transforms from the restaurant setting to a live sound hot spot.”

“We needed really high SPL levels for this install and the JBL speakers were perfect,” said Kevin Ruschmann, project manager, R2W.

“We chose the high-powered JBL system and it turned out very nicely. Everything sounds great in the Rock Bar.”
