Engineer/Conductor Lou Mannarino Selects Point Source SERIES8 Mics For NY Philharmonic Orchestra

Noted musician, audio engineer and conductor Lou Mannarino has chosen Point Source Audio (PSA) SERIES8 minature microphones for use in high-profile performance applications, including the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

The SERIES8 microphones were specified by Mannarino’s New York production company, L&M Sound & Light, for applications in prestigious institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Historical Society, the New York Public Library, to name a few. L&M Sound & Light’s team of engineers and sound technicians has more 30 years of experience creating audio designs for a range of musical artists, concert halls, theaters, museums and event spaces.

“We are blown away by the mics,” states Mannarino. “The SERIES8 mics stand alone thanks to excellent build quality, durability, and the X-connectors that offer easy wireless compatibility. In our world, people do not want to hear the amplification, they just want the natural sound of the speaker. The SERIES8 needs no improvement.”

“We’re delighted that the features of SERIES8 microphones have earned them a place in front of stage and screen icons at some of the finest concert and performance venues in the world,” adds James Lamb, president for Point Source Audio. “From spoken word presentations to finely tuned falsettos, our microphones are ultra durable, wearable and most importantly enjoyable for people on both sides of the stage due in part to our rigorous testing and engineering standards.”

SERIES8 omnidirectional mic elements measure 2-4 mm in diameter yet are specified to provide 148 dB max SPL, joined by a proprietary “Unbreakable Boom” bendable to 360 degrees. In addition, they are IP57 waterproof rated against water, sweat and makeup, and offer interchangeable X-connectors for wireless compatibility.
