Practical Show Tech (PST) is presenting webinar sessions this week that include a masterclass on stage management at Olympic ceremonies as well as the role of production intercom (comm) systems in socially-distanced media production. Here’s the schedule:

“Orange Jackets Olympic Ceremonies Stage Management Masterclass” (PST Episode 83), scheduled for Tuesday, July 28 starting at 5 am U.S. Eastern time. With the 8th anniversary of the London 2012 Summer Olympics coming up, this session brings back Sam Hunter and Julia Whittle of Orange Jackets to share how they organize a cast of literally thousands and get an international show on the air. Find out how they stage managed the ceremonies at the Athens, Torino, Beijing, Vancouver, London, and Sochi Olympics and Paralympics. Cost is $15 per seat. Go here to find out more and register.

“Using Comms To Stay Connected In A Socially-Distanced World” (PST Episode 84), scheduled for Thursday, July 30 starting at noon (12 pm) U.S. Eastern time. Clear-Com and a panel of production audio professionals will discuss how film, TV and commercial production have adapted to the pandemic. What new guidelines are now in place to protect cast and crew on the set? How can full-duplex IP-based intercom solutions help keep local and remote crew members connected while maintaining a safe distance? Peter Schneider from Gotham Sound and Brent Marchesnki of MasterChef Canada will lead the discussion along with Clear-Com regional manager James Schaller and market outreach manager Vinnie Macri.
