Avid has announced that the latest release of Pro Tools will include ARA 2 support of Celemony Melodyne, an integration that will enable users to leverage Melodyne within the Pro Tools Edit window to alter pitch, vibrato, and volume of an entire track or a specific clip.
The ARA 2 Melodyne integration will be released in the next Pro Tools software update and is available for all Pro Tools customers with an active subscription or license with software updates and support plan.
Avid states that the integration between Pro Tools and Melodyne has been one of the most requested features, and will soon enable users to manipulate pitch and time faster and more easily without having to round trip audio out to a plugin and back into Pro Tools.
Melodyne can be applied to entire tracks at once or used in a clip-by-clip manner. The Melodyne user interface is now docked in the Pro Tools Edit window, and new commands have been added to the Track and Clip menus along with respective contextual menus. Go here for more specifics.
