APEX has announced V1.3.0.R, the third major firmware and software release for its CloudPower installation amplifier series that includes the CP354D, CP704D, CP1504D and CP3004D models, each of which offers integral 4×4 Dante networking, with the upgrade also supporting a Dante retrofit kit that allows existing CloudPower amplifiers to be integrated into Dante networks.

V1.3.0.R additionally provides support for APEX’s new 16-channel CP716D amplifier and its integral 16×16 Dante networking module. CP716D is stated to deliver 16 x 700 watts and was developed for use in immersive applications and projects involving numerous separate audio zones.

APEX’s IntelliCloud WebUI also gets multiple enhancements in the update, including the ability to view all CloudPower amplifiers of any type connected to a network and new screen layouts allowing users to manage the CP716D’s 16 channels from their device. IntelliCloud is a browser-based software allowing remote control of CloudPower units, so users automatically see the latest version when connecting to an amplifier that has been upgraded to V1.3.0.R.

“V1.3.0.R unlocks the full potential of our latest CloudPower hardware,” explains APEX R&D Director, Hendrik-Jan Gielis. “The amplifiers with integral Dante and the new sixteen channel model have been hotly anticipated by our customers, so we’re excited to see CloudPower going into more immersive projects and upscale installations in the near future.”

A number of other enhancements and bug fixes complete the V1.3.0.R release, including the ability to select lo-Z / hi-Z mode per channel and upgraded tools for loudspeaker manufacturers wishing to create, manage and protect presets for their loudspeakers.
