Amadeus Unveiling New Philharmonia Loudpeakers Co-Designed By Jean Nouvel At Prolight + Sound 2015

Amadeus will unveil its new ‘Philharmonia’ speakers at the 2015 Prolight + Sound / Musikmesse tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany, April 15-18.

The Company is inviting attendees to come to Hall 8, Stand G 19 to see and hear the new speakers. Amadeus, manufacturer of sound reinforcement systems for live and installed sound, as well as producer of custom speakers for recording studios, worked with Jean Nouvel to create the new speakers for their first use in the 5.1 surround studios at the newly opened Philharmonie de Paris, the building was designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel.

“Jean Nouvel’s imagination, exuberance and creative genius brought a brilliant solution, beyond the original specifications. Amadeus especially praises tradition. Combining innovation and timeless beauty, this system, christened ‘Philharmonia’, embodies the know-how, the creativity and the values on which we have been building our History for more than 35 years,” says Bernard BYK, co-founder and ceo of Amadeus.

Thierry CODUYS, recording engineer, musician and artist, who has worked with a diverse clientele including Pascal DUSAPIN, Karlheinz STOCKHAUSEN, Philip GLASS, Steve REICH, Luciano BERIO, and Marielle et Katia LABÈQUE, among many others, was one of the first to listen to the prototype of the reference speaker. He recalls, “Experiencing the Philharmonia, perceiving their transparency, smoothness, and accuracy – and discovering or rediscovering musical masterpieces – is a unique, sensory and artistic experience.”

The architect Jean Nouvel has won many top awards for his work including:
The Aga Khan Award for Architecture for the Institut du Monde Arabe (1989)
The Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects (2001)
The Wolf Prize in Arts (2005)
The Pritzker Prize (2008)
