AES Announces Result Of 2023 Conference On Audio Archiving, Preservation & Restoration

Approximately 200 researchers and practitioners from around the world gathered in Virginia in early June for a series of keynotes, presentations, panel discussions, and workshops.

The Audio Engineering Society announced that its 2023 conference on Audio Archiving, Preservation & Restoration, held in early June at The Library of Congress Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation in Culpeper, Virginia, was attended by approximately 200 researchers and practitioners from around the world.

Participants engaged in a range of topics, including preservation techniques, digital archiving, metadata standards, and emerging technologies. Through a series of keynotes, presentations, panel discussions, and workshops, attendees gained insights and exchanged ideas on best practices and approaches in audio preservation.

“The event brought together an exceptional group of experts who shared their knowledge, experiences, and strategies for audio preservation,” says conference chair John Krivit. “The discussions and collaborations that took place during the conference will undoubtedly shape the future of audio archiving, preservation, and restoration.”
