Wisycom has announced the debut of the new RPU500-F full-duplex mobile transceiver, which incorporates a one-watt multiband transmitter (where applicable) and a newly designed integrated intercom/IFB receiver for applications that include sports, live events and outside broadcast commentator coverage.
Designed to work with the Wisycom Symphony Series receivers and MTK Series transmitters, the RPU500-F will be on display at the 2023 IBC show in Amsterdam (hall 8, stand C51). It offers a compact form (73.1mm x 64.5mm x 21.6mm) that makes it well suited for use in live applications requiring a lot of movement. The battery pack is stated to last more than five hours with continuous high-power transmission, the transceiver’s transflective LCD color display is designed to ensure that it is legible in all lighting scenarios, including direct sunlight.
The transmitter operates in the 174 to 960 MHz spectrum, while the receiver works in the 440 to 700 MHz range and has three modes that are selectable on the device menu. They include ultra-narrowband (channel bandwidth 12.5 k), narrowband (50 k) and narrowband enhanced (110 k). The bandwidth provided by the enhanced mode makes it possible to include up to three embedded audio sources on the same device. The RPU500-F also has four programmable push-to-talk buttons for remote audio routing on AUX or through Ethernet with Ember+.
