The O. Wayne Rollins Center, a gymnasium/auditorium on the campus of the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY, has a new audio upgrade courtesy of Knight Audio of Louisville that is headed by Yamaha Installation Series loudspeakers.
The Rollins Center seats 1,700 in serving as the home of the school’s basketball teams, and it also hosts larger campus services and events, including commencement, convocations, and an annual leadership event, which this year featured former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee as a presenter.
“The school needed an easy-to-use system for most of the events held in the venue, and they were very familiar with the Yamaha name,” states Dave Knight, owner of Knight Audio.
The new system includes 25 Yamaha IF-2112m loudspeakers, selected for value and quality, and all are driven by eight Yamaha P5000 power amplifiers.
The system includes six IF loudspeakers covering the main floor, an additional eight IF loudspeakers per side covering the main seating area, and three more IF loudspeakers that cover rear seating.
“The system can be reconfigured depending on the type of function held in the space,” adds Knight.
“I had a good experience working with Knight Audio,” notes Jeff Meadors, director of video productions at Cumberland. “They were very professional and capable as they re-equipped our athletic arena to provide us with the much-needed Yamaha upgrade to our 20-year-old sound system.”
