Shure has announced the launch of the MVX2U digital audio interface, a new single-channel XLR to USB unit with onboard DSP and integrated software that provides access to the ShurePlus MOTIV Desktop app for any XLR microphone, delivering up to +60 dB of gain as well as offering phantom power for condenser microphones.

The MVX2U ships in Auto Level Mode that sets gain in real time to act as a “virtual audio engineer” in adjusting levels on the fly, letting content creators focus more fully on their content. Auto Level Mode settings, presets and additional parameters, including “vocal tone,” can be controlled through the MOTIV app.

Users seeking a more hands-on approach can take advantage of additional features available in Manual Mode of the MOTIV app, including EQ, limiter, and compressor presets. Recurring firmware updates will also be available for the MVX2U, meaning the interface will continue to adapt.

“The MVX2U is the most convenient and powerful solution for users looking to convert their XLR microphones to USB at this price,” says Sean Sullivan, associate director of Global Product Management. “The integrated software is designed to be approachable to anyone – experienced professionals and those just starting their audio journey.”

The new MVX2U interface ships with a 1-meter USB-C to USB-C cable and a printed quick-start guide. It’s now available on Shure.com and at select retailers for $129 (U.S.).
