Outline GTO Supports Annual First Festival In Italy

System installed in 2013 to support live performances on the Fiera Del Mare summer stage utilizes 24 GTO modules joined by 20 Mantas loudspeakers, DBS 18-2 subwoofers in an "end-fire" array and more.

First Festival, which presents a host of live techno performances, recently returned to Genoa, Italy on the spacious Fiera Del Mare summer stage [70 x 120 meters] supported by the venue’s Outline GTO arrays delivering sound reinforcement in support of international DJs such as Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, CamelPhat (Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala), Mathame (Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli), and Fel (Giovanni Galvani and Alessio Lerma).

Alessandro Orlando of festival organizer RST Events says of the arrays, which were installed by sound provider Show Technologies in 2013, “Outline has become synonymous with reliability and success for us, and it’s not just my perspective as an organizer, but it’s a sentiment echoed by our audience and the artists we host every year. Receiving numerous compliments, something not easy to come by in our industry, for the audio’s clarity and power is truly rewarding.

The system this year at Fiera Del Mare included 24 GTO modules plus two GTO-DF (main), 20 Mantas (frontfill), six Mantas (private area) and 28 DBS 18-2 subwoofers, configured in an “end-fire” array. The loudspeakers were driven by Outline amplifiers and the design process utilized the company’s Open Array 3D acoustic modeling software.

“With Outline, we consistently succeed in engaging and immersing every attendee, be it in an indoor or outdoor setting, like our latest edition that covered an extensive area of 16,000 square meters,” Orlando concluces. “Even the artists themselves are in awe, often pausing monitor loudspeakers during the performances to appreciate the exceptional quality of the PA system. Their wide-eyed expressions and smiles say it all, expressing their amazement and satisfaction with the sound.”
