Meyer Sound To Offer Interactive Spacemap Go Demos At FILO Chicago 2021

Worship conference kicks off USA road show for company's new spatial sound design and live mixing tool.

Meyer Sound will be offering hands-on, interactive demos of its Spacemap® Go spatial sound design and live mixing tool at FILO Chicago, a hybrid in-person and live-streamed event for technical artists serving local churches on May 11 and 12. The demo sessions will take place between breakout sessions in the spacious lobby area at the host venue, Willow Creek Community Church in the Chicago suburb of South Barrington, Illinois.

“Spacemap Go is the perfect spatial and immersive sound solution for churches,” says Daniel Rivera, Meyer Sound Sales Manager, West. “It is adaptable and flexible and it’s highly intuitive with a short learning curve. It’s also extremely cost effective, particularly for churches with newer Meyer Sound systems as it leverages the power of their existing GALAXY processors. All they need is an iPad loaded with the Spacemap Go app.”

FILO Chicago 2021 will be primarily a live-streamed event, but a limited number of attendees will be able to view the presentations in person and also circulate among the exhibit booths. Meyer Sound is participating as a Breakout and Premier sponsor. Attending for the company will be Rivera, Michael Armstrong-Brown (Sales Engineer) and Michael Bogden (Sales Manager, Midwest).

“We will have two separated booth spaces on opposite sides of the lobby, with small systems in each,” explains Rivera. “They will be networked together into one system, so you can use Spacemap Go to ping-pong back and forth or map trajectories in between. We will have a variety of worship-oriented content available, and attendees will be able to apply the power of Spacemap Go with only a minute or two of coaching.”

Multiple iPads will be available to enable simultaneous use by two operators, as well as to allow disinfection between demos. The demo system will comprise, in addition to the GALAXY 816 network platform, eight ULTRA-X20 compact loudspeakers, two USW-112P subwoofers, and three 900-LFC™compact low-frequency control elements. The system will also incorporate a sneak preview of a breakthrough application of networking technology.

Immediately following FILO Chicago, Spacemap Go demo sessions will continue at Signature Production Group, located nearby in the Chicago suburb of St. Charles. Demos are by appointment only. Audio professionals who wish to reserve a private session should contact [email protected].

Chicago is the second stop on a spring and summer Spacemap Go Road Show, with the first stop at the AES Spring Training in Nashville at the end of March.

Spacemap Go is a spatial sound design and live mixing tool that employs a free iPad app to leverage the inherent processing power of the thousands of GALAXY Network Platforms already in use. Open Sound Control (OSC) support provides integration with QLab sound design software as well as many DAWs including Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Logic Pro X, and Reaper.

FILO (First In Last Out) is an organization that was created for technical artists who serve the local church, designed to provide skill development, community and inspiration to equip technical artists to become effective contributors to their local church.
