McCann Systems Implements 1 SOUND At New Washington DC eSports Venue

New 14,000-square-foot District E Powered by Ticketmaster facility outfitted with Tower Series and Cannon loudspeakers and more to reinforce programming that includes eSports matches, corporate events and viewing parties.

District E Powered by Ticketmaster, a new 14,000-square-foot eSports venue situated in downtown Washington, D.C. adjacent to the Capital One Arena, is equipped with a sound system incorporating 1 SOUND loudspeakers to reinforce programming that includes eSports matches, corporate events and viewing parties integrated with LED video throughout the facility.

Monumental Sports, an assembly of seven DC-area sports and gaming teams, turned to integration firm McCann Systems, which has offices in the U.S. spanning from Las Vegas to Hartford, CT, to design and install the audiovisual systems to enhance the experience.

For the main gaming space, McCann selected two Tower LCC84 cardioid column loudspeakers that are positioned on each side of the main LED wall, utilizing the Tower Wall Bracket for mounting. They’re joined by two WSUB45i Wall subwoofers located below and flush with the wall to enhance low-frequency impact while keeping a low profile.

Beyond the main space, McCann incorporated Cannon C5i loudspeakers for sound reinforcement in other areas of the arena. For example, in the dining area, they are hung as pendants using C-Clamps for the desired angles.

The audiovisual system operates on an AV over IP platform connecting various sources that include digital signage, BrightSign media players, and Apple TV 4K players. With 90 individual system sources, the setup provides the added versatility needed to accommodate the diverse programming that District E presents.

Spectators can enjoy looking on the three large-format LED video walls, two LED column displays, and two LED tickers featuring live stats. This area also includes two locker rooms and scrimmage facilities packed with 98-inch screens, 32 individual gaming stations, F&B offerings with 13 displays and a 2×2 video wall, and public spaces with digital canvases.

“District E Powered by Ticketmaster reimagines the future of live experiences by bringing esports, latest technology and community engagement together in a one-of-a-kind space,” concludes Marla Ostroff, managing director of North America, Ticketmaster.
