The L-Acoustics L Series comprises two elements that are designed to work together or on their own.

L-Acoustics announced that it will be showcasing the new L Series line source array that debuted last month at the upcoming InfoComm 2023 show in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center at booth 5751 and at the 2,643-seat Linda W. Chapin Theater (room W320, level 3).

The L Series incorporates patented Progressive Ultra-Dense Line Source (PULS) technology and comprises two elements designed to work together or independently: L2 above and L2D below. One L2 or L2D element provides the same contour as four K2 elements in a format that is a stated 46 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter.

Each element contains eight 3-inch high-frequency drivers with eight 10-inch low-frequency drivers, complemented by four side-loaded 12-inch drivers with front and back exits to deliver efficient, precision broadband coverage with cardioid or supercardioid patterns. L Series also includes the company’s Panflex technology to provide sound designers quick access to four horizontal directivity patterns.

Also being demoed at the Chapin Theater and shown on stand 5751 is the company’s new LA7.16 amplified controller. The high-density format — 16 x 16 architecture in a 2U design — is stated to power more line array loudspeakers than any similar-size amplifier, meaning fewer racks on tour, translating to energy and time savings along with the ability to address multichannel and hybrid productions.

LA7.16 and LA7.16i are designed to meet the amplification needs of L Series, whose L2 and L2D elements contain 20 drivers and require 16 amplifier channels and 16 DSP channels. The product offers a touch screen, an encoder wheel to set up initial parameters, and a single SC32 connector on the rear for connecting loudspeakers. Using new connection accessories, LA7.16 powers any L-Acoustics line source array up to K2.

The new companion LA-RAK III touring rack houses three LA7.16 amplified controllers to supply 48 amplification channels and 48 individual DSP channels totaling more than 60,000 watts of peak power in a 9U rack, with two LS10 switches to support MILAN AVB redundancy.

On booth 5751, L-Acoustics will also demonstrate the L-ISA 3.0 immersive audio software platform for the live sound and music creation markets. Among the notable additions of this latest version are new Snapshot and FX Engines, Stereo Mapper, which supports both stereo and immersive content, and augmented audio possibilities with Mixhalo integration.

In addition, on Wednesday, June 14 in room W320, L-Acoustics and AVNU will jointly host a presentation on updates in the MILAN AVB ecosystem, followed by a Q&A with MILAN members. Go here to register for this session.
