L-Acoustics System Installed In Japanese Performance Hall

Kudo chosen for the Iwate Prefectural Hall for its ease of configuration and use.

L-Acoustics‘ Japanese distributor Bestec Audio recently installed a Kudo system into the Iwate Prefectural Hall in Morioka, Iwate.

Twelve Kudo line source cabinets with four SB28 subwoofers, powered by eight LA8 amplified controllers, have been supplied as a mobile system which can be moved between the venue’s two halls, with 10 L-Acoustics 112P coaxials for monitoring.

Iwate Prefectural Hall plays a significant role in the art and culture of Iwate and is used for many different purposes, including music, theatre and conventions.

The hall has been open since 1973, and the building’s main hall spans three floors and can accommodate almost 2,000, with a secondary 600-capacity hall.

“The reverberation time in the main hall is 1.75 seconds when vacant, and 1.45 seconds at 80% capacity,” said the hall’s head of hall administration, Mr Naruo Seki.

“With a system that has a relatively long reverberation time, we can obtain a uniform sound quality and volume in any seat on every floor of the main hall, as if it were right at the FOH position, even at the back of the third floor.”

“As Kudo has integrated rigging, it’s very easy to set up the system. Presets are stored in LA8 and there is no need for any extra equipment such as crossovers.”

“The system has provided a good many benefits for us.”
