The IFBlue by Lectrosonics IFB receiver and dock charging system is a finalist for a 2023 TEC Award.

Lectrosonics has announced that its IFBlue-branded IFB (Interruptible Foldback) receiver pack and associated dock charging system have been nominated for a 2023 Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in the category of Wireless products. (Go here to vote.)

The announcement follows a four-month call for entries of technical products and projects that have made an impact on modern sound and music. A panel of industry voters from pro audio publications as well as members of professional music, technical and creative organizations along with select NAMM members evaluated each entry before making their selections.

IFBlue receivers are designed for customers in production, film, broadcast, videography, live event, and houses of worship, compatible with Lectrosonics IFBT4 transmitters and Digital Hybrid Wireless transmitters operating in IFB compatibility mode. The receiver offers 10 presets, programmable from the backlit LCD front panel.

Five tuning ranges are available for the IFBR1C receivers: the VHF version covers 174-216 MHz, the A1 (470-537 MHz), B1 (537-614 MHz) and C1 (614-692 MHz) versions cover the UHF TV frequencies for most countries, and the 941 MHz Band version covers the North American license-only 941-960 MHz range. Future firmware updates can be installed in the receivers in the field via the USB jack located behind the battery door. The receivers have an integrated, spring-loaded belt clip for light weight and secure placement and can use either disposable AA or rechargeable NiMh AA batteries with 10 hours for AA alkalines, 12-plus hours for NiMh rechargeables, and 20-plus hours for lithium disposables.

The IFBlue companion dock charging system, the CHSIFBR1C, is capable of charging up to four receivers when using NiMh rechargeable batteries. The charging dock units can be mechanically linked for organization on the mounting surface.

“Our customers have long asked for a value-priced IFB receiver, which extend to a new range of users. The IFBlue receivers and companion charging docks meet and exceed these requirements, while remaining compatible with our existing line of IFB products,” says Karl Winkler, VP of Sales and Marketing at Lectrosonics. “We are honored that the IFBlue IFB receiver and dock charging system have been nominated for a TEC Award.”

All finalists will be featured at The 2023 NAMM Show at the TEC Experience — open to all NAMM Show attendees and preceding the return of the TEC Awards in 2024 — held on the campus of the Anaheim Convention Center on the evening of Thursday, April 13.
