HK Audio Line Arrays Deliver Jazz Series At Woodmere Art Museum

Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia’s premier institution for interpreting the art and culture of the region, recently introduced a Friday Night Jazz Series live music performances that pay tribute to legendary jazz artists.

The events are held in Woodmere’s rotunda gallery—a two-level structure with a promenade ring that forms a balcony on the second level, and a solid hard floor.

In addition to posing a number of acoustic challenges, the space is an active art gallery, so the visual distraction of any flown or permanently installed sound system would come at some sacrifice to the gallery aesthetics.

To reinforce the performances, the museum is utilizing HK Audio Elements modular line arrays in the Acoustics Three configuration.

Specifically, each side of the HK Elements Acoustics Three configuration consists of three E435 mid-high units, an EA600 power amp to drive the mid-highs, and an E110SUBA active subwoofer powering an E110SUB passive subwoofer, all of which can be quickly and easily interchanged via HK Audio’s proprietary e-Connect system, to scale the system down for additional applications.

For added functionality on non-performance days, the museum takes advantage of the modularity of the system, which allows them to split the system several times (up to four) to be used for lectures and other events.
