Frequency Productions Finds RF Venue To Be “Magic Bullet” For Challenging Wireless Educational & Training Space

Diversity Fin antenna deployed at a presentation and event venue in the Los Angeles area to solve wireless system dropouts without needing to relocate any equipment.

To address wireless system problems at the Los Angeles-area event and presentation space of a global educational and training systems provider, Mike Utter, owner of Frequency Productions, a corporate and live event-production company based in Orlando, FL, recently implemented an RF Venue Diversity Fin antenna that’s designed to prevent dropouts due to its patented proprietary cross-polarized design.

“It is a pretty wide room with three dual-kit wireless microphone receivers permanently installed in a rack in the back of the room, and that alone was a challenge,” says Utter. “And on top of that they were using whip antennas mounted in the ceiling tiles, so wireless coverage would be intrinsically difficult.

“RF Venue’s product line makes it easy and it just makes sense,” he continues, noting that even though he was brought in to rectify a problem in a space with existing wireless systems already installed, the antenna was still the right fit. “It works with any wireless system, so compatibility is never an issue,” he adds.

The antenna combines a log-periodic dipole array (LPDA) and a dipole antenna in an orthogonal (right angle) configuration — one element captures vertically polarized signals and the other horizontally polarized signals.

Utter installed a white Diversity Fin antenna, which matched the room’s tone and décor and positioned it on the ceiling in the center of the space and then made a video of himself moving throughout the entire room with a handheld wireless microphone to reassure the client remotely that problems with RF dropouts were solved. The venues wireless racks were able to remain where they were, saving time and cost.

“Cost-effective and reliable,” says Utter. “That’s why RF Venue is an easy choice.”
