Focusrite Introduces New 4th-Gen Scarlett Solo, 2i2 & 4i4 Interfaces

All offer improved performance and specifications than previous models and incorporate key features that include Auto Gain, Clip Safe and a re-engineered Air mode.

Focusrite has announces the launch of Scarlett 4th Gen, a new range of audio interfaces that includes the Solo, 2i2, 4i4, Solo Studio, and 2i2 Studio that all offer improved performance and specifications than previous models and incorporating key features that include Auto Gain, Clip Safe and a re-engineered Air mode.

Overview of Scarlett 4th Gen:

— 120 dB dynamic range using converters from the company’s flagship RedNet range

— New remote-controlled preamps with 69 dB of gain

— Re-engineered Air mode with Presence and new Harmonic Drive

— Auto Gain that automatically sets the recording level

— Clip Safe monitors recording levels and automatically adjusts the gain to help prevent clipping

— New custom-designed headphone amp

— Redesigned Dynamic Gain Halos with output metering

— Redesigned headphones for Focusrite’s Studio packs, with stated flatter frequency response and added comfort

— Refreshed Easy Start tool to make it easier to set up and begin recording

The Scarlett Solo is intended for singer-songwriters, with one mic preamp, one Hi-Z instrument/line input and a new custom-designed headphone amp.

The Scarlett 2i2 offers two remote-controlled mic preamps and two Hi-Z instrument/line inputs for guitars, keys and groove boxes.

The Scarlett 4i4 provides two remote-controlled mic preamps, switchable line or Hi-Z instrument inputs, two fixed line inputs, and four balanced outputs for recording mics, guitars, synths and more. MIDI I/O makes it easier to bring in synths and grooveboxes to sync with recording sessions.

The Scarlett Solo Studio and Scarlett 2i2 Studio packs include either a Solo or 2i2 interface, CM25 MkIII studio condenser mic and closed-back SH-450 headphones.

Focusrite’s Easy Start tool is set up to guide users through setup. Also included are Ableton Live Lite and three months of Pro Tools Artist recording software. Further, the Hitmaker Expansion software bundle provides a suite of plugins from brands that include Softube, Native Instruments, Antares, and many more.

Also included are five free masters from Landr that can be used at any time, plus a two-month subscription to Landr Studio, offering music distribution on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and TikTok. Focusrite Control 2 is also provided and enables remote control setup and mixing from a PC or Mac.
