Software startup Compasseur has announced the introduction of TXAdvance, a new app developed for radio frequency transmitter management in allowing users to quickly find the best frequencies for their local area by scanning the RF spectrum and automatically calculating the intermodulation products of the selected frequencies.
The scan function relies on a Software Defined Radio USB dongle to do precise RF scans of any bands from 50 to 1300 MHz with 5 kHz resolution. Exclusion lists allow users to define bands of frequencies to avoid such as known TV channels.
The app includes an algorithm to automatically select the optimal frequencies, free of intermodulation and with the lowest noise value. Intermodulation products up to 7th order are calculated and for each frequency on the candidate list the intermodulation status and noise value is displayed.
The new TXAdvance app is available at the Google Play Store here. Applicable SDR dongles tested to work with the app are here and here.
