Capital Sound Utilizing Meyer Sound At O2 Arena For Julie Andrews’ Return To London Stage

London sound provider to support legend with system based on MILO line array loudspeakers, 700-HP subwoofers, and more

This weekend (May 8), musical icon Julie Andrews will be performing on London’s O2 Arena in “The Gift of Music—an Evening with Julie Andrews.”

The sound system, provided by Capital Sound, will be headed by Meyer Sound line arrays, loudspeakers and subwoofers.

Andrews, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Ian Fraser will take the audience on a musical journey through Andrews’s illustrious career that has brought the world Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, and The King and I.

The concert will mark Julie Andrews’s first performance on a UK stage in 30 years. “To perform once again in my homeland on the London stage will be a wonderful moment – it is where it all began for me, and I am so excited to be able to share a brand new work with audiences,” says Andrews in a press release on the O2 Arena’s website.

Capital Sound, the London sound provider that has supported such performances as Il Divo and Kylie Minogue, will return to the O2 with a system based on 36 Meyer Sound MILO line array loudspeakers and 16 700-HP subwoofers.

The system also includes side flown arrays of Meyer MICA and M’elodie line array loudspeakers, as well as groundstacked M’elodie, UPM-1P, JM-1P arrayable loudspeakers and additional 700-HP subwoofers.

John Pellowe, Meyer Sound’s Constellation project director and sound engineer for the late Luciano Pavarotti, will perform FOH duties for the concert.
