beyerdynamic has announced the expansion of its SPACE product series with the debut of the new SPACE MAX speakerphone for medium-to-large meeting spaces that incorporates the company’s proprietary 360° SMART MIC TECHNOLOGY.
“Hybrid work needs hybrid tools,” says Ron Hautzinger, beyerdynamic SPACE MAX product manager. “SPACE MAX emphasizes our goal to provide high-quality audio solutions to professionals. The speakerphone is officially certified for Zoom and compatible with Microsoft Teams, allowing users to start phone calls and virtual or hybrid meetings quickly and easily. At the same time, it has our classic beyerdynamic audio quality, making it the perfect speaker for music and media listening in-between meetings.”
SPACE MAX is designed to provide a high level of speech intelligibility during phone calls and/or meetings with up to six participants. For larger conferences, two SPACE MAX devices can be connected using the Conference Cascade mode, accommodating up to 12 participants.
The 360° SMART MIC TECHNOLOGY automatically detects voice or noise signals and suppresses unwanted reverberation, echo, or feedback, setting new standards for echo cancellation. The unit is also designed to intelligently adjust voice volume, while the full-duplex capability allows participants to speak and be heard simultaneously, maintaining a natural conversation flow.
It connects with laptops, smartphones, and tablets via USB or Bluetooth. Android device pairing is expedited with Google Fast Pair, and the included USB cable and USB-C to USB-A adapter caters to various connection types. For extended compatibility, an optional USB WL adapter is available to enhance compatibility between the speakerphone and communication apps.
And illuminated LED panel is designed to offer intuitive operation and access to essential functions during calls or media playback. IP64 certification helps assure protection against dust and splashes. A Kensington lock protects against theft. Software features include Business Mode, which prevents unwanted connections with nearby Bluetooth devices.
Stated battery life is up to 25 hours on a single charge, and it can also serve as a powerbank to charge for smartphones or tablets when needed. SPACE MAX is available now for a suggested retail price of $399 in Charcoal and Nordic Grey on the beyerdynamic online shop and Amazon as well as at selected retail partners. The Cascade Cable SPACE MAX is available as an optional accessory for $25.
