German studio Earnapping Musicproduction recently upgraded its Royal Suite studio with a Solid State Logic AWS 900+ SE console and XLogic X-Rack with eight dynamics modules.
This marks the studio’s return to analogue electronics, having previously ridden the all digital wave.
The AWS 900+ SE delivers SSL’s SuperAnalogue sound quality and signal path, while providing on console control of the resident DAW.
“The AWS 900+ SE has really made a big difference for us regarding workflow and sound quality,” said Hermann Niesig, producer and founder/CEO of Earnapping Musicproduction.
“Almost eight years ago, I sold my analogue gear and invested in digital technology. After the initial euphoria, disillusionment quickly set in, especially when going into great detail with crafting a sound.”

“Being able to control the Steinberg Cubase 5 software from the console surface is very powerful,” said Niesig. “I took a look at different controllers, but a controller is really just a bigger mouse.”
