Altinex Introduces Audio Signal Conditioners

The SC206-204/205 are ideal for presentation systems.

Altinex has announced the introduction of the SC206-204/205 audio signal conditioners.

The SC206-204/205 are intended to eliminate the effects of transmission interference when using single-ended audio signals, such as those commonly transmitted from personal music players or computers via connector formats such as 3.5 mm and RCA.

The new Altinex SC206-204/205 audio signal conditioners eliminate noise or interference caused by signal contamination and by variations in ground levels, making them ideal for presentation systems.

The Altinex SC206-204 and SC206-205 both use audio filters to reduce noise on single-ended audio signals by recreating the audio signal in a balanced or differential format and by isolating the grounds to eliminate potential ground loops.

The SC206-204 is terminated with a male stereo 3.5 mm mini-plug (for source audio) and a female 3.5 mm plug (for loop out) while the SC206-205 is terminated with RCA connectors.

When used in a presentation system, the new SC206-204 and SC206-205 audio signal conditioners can dramatically enhance the quality of the source audio, eliminating 60 Hz hum that can occur when multiple pieces of equipment are not properly grounded.

They compliment to the Altinex Tilt ‘N Plug line of interconnect boxes. Placed ‘in-line’ between the interconnect box and the audio amplifier/loudspeakers, the SC206-204/205 audio signal conditioners convert the single-ended audio signal to balanced, allowing presentations to have clean audio to support the visuals.

Phil Hale, Altinex Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented on the company’s new SC206-204/205 audio signal conditioners.

“The SC206-204 and SC206-205 are indispensible for ensuring high quality audio in today’s presentation systems,” says Hale.

“With the myriad of audio and video equipment that must interact together, these audio signal conditioners are perfect for addressing noise interference frequently caused by proximity to power cables, transformers, ballasts from fluorescent lights, dimmer switches, and other high powered electrical emitting devices.”

“Similarly, they are extremely effective for addressing the relative ground levels between the source and destination devices. I’m confident that integrators will find these new audio conditioners a terrific choice for ensuring optimum audio quality.”
