Multiple Grammy-honored trumpeter Wynton Marsalis recently traveled with his Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra to perform for a packed house of more than 1,700 at the Budapest (Hungary) Congress & World Trade Center.
AV integrator Penna-Poor of Budapest provided the system for the concert, including Danley Sound Labs loudspeakers and subwoofers.
Specifically, Ferenc Koscso, Technical Director of Penna-Media (sister company to Penna-Poor), elected to build elevated stands to either side of the stage that each accommodated four Danley SH-50 full-range loudspeakers.
On each side, one pair of SH-50s covered the floor and the other pair covered the balcony. A “telescopic spacer” provided the optimum angle so that there was no wasted energy in the space between the floor and balcony, nor any vertical overlap.
A Danley TH-212 subwoofer with each SH-50 cluster provided the low end.
“Danley’s unique ability to form seamless arrays along with the 100 x 50-degree dispersion of each pair of SH-50s ended up being ideal for this venue,” reports Koscso. “We had the same tonality and loudness in the first few rows as we did at the back wall.”
