TELEFUNKEN Creates New “Colors for Causes” Microphone Collection

Offering M80 and M81 microphones in colors aligned with a variety of non-profit organizations funding research into cures for diseases and supporting environmental causes, with portions of the proceeds going to those organizations.

TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik announced that it has created a new “Colors for Causes” collection of its M80 and M81 dynamic microphones, with the new colors aligned with a variety of non-profit charities funding research into cures for diseases and for associations supporting environmental causes. Portions of proceeds will go directly to the selected charity organizations.

“Since founding the company more than 20 years ago, we’ve lost family, friends, and some special members of the pro-audio community,” says company founder Toni Fishman. “We decided to do something positive and dedicate our new mic colors to important 501c organizations that are working on cures for a number of diseases, as well as groups funding environmental efforts.”

TELEFUNKEN states that it has updated its custom coloring process of microphones to a more durable ceramic coating and standardized automated procedures. Some of the new mic color finishes and charities include:

— Pink: National Breast Cancer Foundation
— Cherry: The Nature Conservatory
— Turquoise: Alzheimer’s Foundation Of America
— Oak: The Rainforest Alliance
— Chrome Michael J. Fox Foundation (Parkinson’s Disease Awareness)
— Gold: National Parks Conservation Society
