Sommer Introduces New Loudspeaker/Subwoofer DMX Combo Cable

Designed to facilitate simultaneous connection of subwoofers with integrated sensors at live events.

Sommer Cable has announced the introduction of the SC-Elephant Robust SPM 440 DMX, a new combination loudspeaker/subwoofer and DMX cable for the simultaneous connection of subwoofers with integrated sensors at live events and for the associated rental industry.

While conventional subwoofer designs have been in practical use for many years, the advent of Sensor Control Subwoofer Technology is intended to enable a new step, designed to offer an extended low-frequency range with flatter frequency and phase response.

The new cable has a compact diameter of 19.5 mm (0.77 in) in incorporating two DMX cables, insulated and shielded, with a wire cross-section of each 2 x 0.22 mm (AWG24). This integrated 110-ohm control lines now allows for sensor-control subwoofer systems without the need for laying extra cables. In addition, the control line may also be used as an ordinary microphone cable or for tie lines.

The SC-Elephant Robust SPM 440 DMX cable will be available in January 2022. Go here for more information and to order.
