The performance hall at the Workshop Musical Academy in Warsaw, Poland, a performing arts school focused on developing young musical artists’ interests and skills and preparing them for original theater, film, and music projects, recently received a new sound reinforcement system utilizing power amplifiers from LEA Professional.
The academy brought in local AV integrator ESS-Audio to design and install the new sound system for the 300-seat hall, which hosts a variety of theater and concert performances. “The school needed a flexible sound system that could be integrated with and support the hall’s current AV system, projection system, and a future-planned large video wall,” says Maciej Barański, Sound Designer, ESS Audio. “To meet these requirements, the system needed to deliver excellent sound quality, scalability, and ease of use.”
In addition to sound quality and flexible connectivity, the school was interested in accessing the system remotely, allowing the ESS team to adjust and manage the system if issues arise. “We specified a set of five CONNECT SERIES amplifiers from LEA Professional,” Barański notes. “With the LEA amps, we have the sound quality, headroom, and extensive connectivity and flexibility we need for any scale of performance. But one of the biggest features that drew us to these amps was the cloud control which gives us the option to access and configure the amps remotely while the academy continues to grow and re-configure the system to meet almost any future need.”
With the CONNECT SERIES, users can engage the built-in Wi-Fi access point, connect to the venue’s Wi-Fi, or use the FAST Ethernet to connect to any local area network via Cat-5/6 cable. The amplifiers also offer cloud connectivity for remote control, monitoring, notifications, and more from personal devices.
Specific models utilized for this project include CONNECT 704D, 702D and 354D, all with HiZ and LoZ channel selectable analog inputs, Dante inputs, and external I/O control for remote on/off and fault monitoring. “This installation went really well, and the customer is delighted with the results,” Barański concludes. “We have used LEA amps in multiple installs in Poland now and they continue to exceed all our requirements. We look forward to deploying the LEA technology in more upcoming projects in the region.”
