Open-Air Regatta Grove In Miami Outfitted With 1 SOUND

New waterfront dining and entertainment venue in the city's Coconut Grove neighborhood served by a variety of IP55-rated loudspeakers, including Tower LCC44s, Cannon C5 compact coaxials and more.

Regatta Grove, a new dining and entertainment venue in Regatta Harbour in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood that offers multiple decks, a walkway to the waterfront, direct access to the marina, and dockage for guests that arrive by boat, is served by a sound reinforcement system utilizing numerous 1 SOUND IP55-rated loudspeakers with stainless steel accessories.

“What sets Regatta Grove apart from any other venue in Miami is the uniqueness of its location,” says Alex Mantecon, co-founder of the venue’s developer, Breakwater Hospitality Group. “The venue is inspired by the essence of the sailing and boating community we all grew up enjoying in the neighborhood. As Miami locals, we have an immense appreciation for this community and wanted to create a one-of-a-kind experience that will resonate with the people of Coconut Grove.”

Integrator DRVCS Productions designed and installed the system, specifying the 1 SOUND loudspeakers after experiencing an outdoor demonstration of the products. The venue includes three large outdoor bars, and a capacity of nearly 1,000 people.

The large main bar sits under an open structure made from a re-purposed 20,000-square-foot airplane hanger. DRVCS chose Tower LCC44s in white for this area, and they’re mounted on the column posts utilizing the Wall Bracket accessory. Meanwhile, the low-end is supported by six CSUB610 subwoofers distributed round the space.

For music playback in the rest of the spaces and seating areas, Cannon C5 compact coaxial loudspeakers are the choice. Some are placed in garden beds and aimed toward the seats using their dedicated C-Clamp accessories, while at the food stations, they’re mounted on the face of the built structure with C-Clamps. Further, two Cannon C6s are employed to provide more impact in another bar. All loudspeakers are driven by Powersoft amplification.

The Cannons extended low end, small form factor, amount of SPL, and their high-fidelity sound quality make them a great and versatile loudspeaker that can stand alone for music playback. Like the loudspeakers used in this installation, all 1 SOUND loudspeakers are IP55 rated and have stainless steel accessories available.
