Macedonia-based MM-acoustics has announced the addition of the W Series of dedicated stage monitors to its growing product line.
Both the new W8 and W12 monitors, which were subject to a full summer of road testing before being released, offer a passive, coaxial design. A pole mount makes them suitable for use as mains in a variety of applications as well.
Both models offer a 1-inch-exit polyester diaphragm compression driver providing smooth response and low harmonic distortion mounted on its respective neodymium woofer (8-inch for the W8 and 12-inch for the W12). The components are housed in a Baltic birch bass-reflex tuned enclosure protected by durable scratch-resistant textured paint.
The coaxial transducer arrangement in the W8 produces 90-degree axi-symmetric directivity, while the W12 provides 80 × 60-degree directivity. Both are engineered to deliver a smooth tonal response that’s free of any secondary lobes over the entire frequency range.
The passive crossover in both models is made of audiophile-grade components to further feedback resistance and sonic precision.
