IPS Transforms Sound At The Crossing Church In Tennessee With NEXO

Franklin, TN-based system provider fits 650-seat worship sanctuary in Chattanooga with arrays of eight GEOM10 elements per side joined by three flown L15 subwoofers.

Franklin, TN-based Integrated Production Solutions (IPS) recently deployed a new sound reinforcement system headed by NEXO loudspeakers in the 650-seat worship sanctuary of The Crossing Church in Chattanooga.

The church’s previous system was delivering uneven SPL coverage in the space and problems with intelligibility. A mono configuration and lack of headroom were creating further issues in a facility with a 35-foot ceiling height and where music is central to the celebration, so the church approached IPS for an upgrade.

IPS account manager Carter Music explains, “We’d just finished another highly successful NEXO installation and immediately thought of the brand for The Crossing. The NEXO engineering support team was very pro-active in helping us design a system of eight GEOM10s per side with three L15s flown, keeping the subs off the floor.

“With phase-aligned processing pre-sets for all NEXO speakers accessible on the NXAMPMk2 powered controllers, it was easy to combine the main line arrays with a pair of NEXO P10 point source speakers for out fills, and compact ID24s for front fills and under balcony coverage.” Amplification and processing come from three NEXO NXAMP4X2Mk2 and a single NXAMP4X1Mk2 four-channel powered controllers.

“Budget is always an important consideration” Carter concludes, “and the client is very satisfied with the uncompromised performance of the NEXO system.”
