HK Audio Brings Compact LUCAS Nano System To The U.S. Market

Includes dedicated subwoofer and built-in mixer, along with two small satellite loudspeakers

HK Audio unveiled the LUCAS Nano (Lightweight Ultra Compact Active System) for the U.S. market at the recent Summer NAMM 2012 show in Nashville.

LUCAS Nano features subcompact dimensions and a miniscule footprint. Its self-contained 22-pouond package can be easily carried via built-in handles, and includes a dedicated subwoofer and built-in mixer, along with two small – yet surprisingly powerful – satellite loudspeakers.

The fist-sized satellite loudspeakers can be mounted directly on top of the sub via HK’s Easy-Click connectors (requiring no additional wiring).

They can also be mounted onto HK’s optional stand package, or even onto traditional mic stands and connected via instrument cables for added placement options and a true stereo experience.

The Easy-Click system provides further versatility, allowing users to also connect two satellites and use them as one double-powered, mono speaker.

In addition, a stereo link connection enables users to pair two LUCAS Nano systems together for increased power, range, and number of inputs.

Delivering up to 120 dB of SPL output, LUCAS Nano is also a monitoring solution for electronic drums and synths, gaming, and multimedia applications that can benefit from lightweight, portable audio systems.

The 3-channel mixer built into the back of the sub easily accommodates microphones, acoustic-electric and stereo instruments, plus media players.

HK Audio USA product manager James Sajeva states, “LUCAS Nano represents a major step forward in portable PA. Our engineers set out to design a versatile system that offers both mono and stereo configurations. They took that concept one step further with LUCAS Nano’s combination of a dedicated subwoofer, built-in three-channel stereo mixer, and two specially designed mic stand-mountable satellite speakers.

“When this new system debuted in Europe, people were taken back by the output—and sound quality—this deceptively small and affordable product provides.”

The Lucas Nano will be available at select U.S. retailers in August 2012 with a U.S. street price of $699.
