Fulcrum Acoustic Releases AHS Steerable Large-Format Array Modules

Modular, scalable loudspeaker systems targeted at applications where very high output and tight pattern control are required.

Fulcrum Acoustic has announced the release of the new AHS Series of modular, scalable loudspeaker systems targeted at applications where very high output and tight pattern control are required.

“We’ve had ongoing requests from system designers for even higher output versions of our existing AH and AH4 products,” says Fulcrum Acoustic product manager Rich Frembes. “The AHS’ configurable vertical pattern allows dispersion to be tailored to a venue’s needs. Its modularity allows it to scale as needed to tackle very long-throw applications, such as those encountered in stadium end-zone/scoreboard deployments.”

The AHS440 (45-degree horizontal beamwidth) utilizes four high-frequency horns, each paired with a coaxial compression driver, while the AHS460 (60-degree horizontal beamwidth) uses three high-frequency horns. Both models incorporate four 10-inch woofers loaded by proprietary Oculus phase plugs.

In addition, the proprietary Compression Head extends the low-frequency horn length to foster LF extension to 60 Hz in a cabinet with a depth of 28 inches. Frontal dimensions are a 36 inches wide by 31 inches high.

Fulcrum Acoustic’s TQ Processing combined with beam-forming DSP algorithms configure AHS vertical dispersion to match a venue’s specific geometries and throw distances. Multiple high-frequency horns are designed to combine coherently to provide the output necessary to combat HF air loss, particularly in stadium-scale applications. AHS modules are designed to be stacked as needed to increase projection and control.
