El Lugar de Su Presencia, a Christian church founded 30 years ago that serves 80,000 members at eight locations in Colombia, recently revamped its worship sanctuary in Bogata with new audio infrastructure that includes Sennheiser Digital 6000 and Evolution Wireless Digital systems.
With more than 10 services a week that are attended by approximately 1,000 people each and with many more joining online, the upgrade opens up new possibilities for the church’s AV team. The long range (LR) mode and the number of possible channels of the Digital 6000 series are designed to help insure the high level of performance that each service requires, including for sermons, singers, choirs, and other activities that involve the use of microphones.
“I think that audio setups in churches should be taken with great importance,” says Juan Pablo Giraldo, audio director of El Lugar de Su Presencia, “Singers damage their voices less with Sennheiser products and are better heard … for me this is something very valuable because when you have 10 services a week, taking care of your voice means prolonging its life.”
Sennheiser’s main distributor in Colombia, SR Importadores brought the Sennheiser systems to the church AV team to evaluate as they were seeking an upgrade. The project also includes Neumann KH 80 monitors. In addition, both Sennheiser and Neumann components are in active use at the church’s other seven locations.
“The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word, let’s say that if you pass it to a technical level you have to ensure the listener has the highest possible audio quality,” concludes Giraldo.
