Bose Professional To Present New Products At InfoComm 2017

Panaray MSA12X modular steerable array loudspeaker, MB210 compact subwoofer, and EdgeMax in-ceiling premium loudspeakers to be introduced in Orlando.

Bose Professional announces that several new products will be presented at InfoComm 2017 in Orlando.

The new Panaray MSA12X modular steerable array loudspeaker is self-powered with a slim, unobtrusive acoustic design offering twelve full-range 2.25-inch transducers (with 75 Hz – 14 kHz response) in a columnar line array configuration.

The MSA12X model includes 12 internal power amplifiers (50 watts per channel; total 600-watt rated power) and onboard DSP to allow digital control and beam steering of array vertical coverage patterns.

Proprietary Articulated Array configuration allows wide, 160-degree horizontal coverage. Independent level and EQ control is supported for two separate beams per array, and onboard memory stores up to 10 user-selectable presets. The MSA12X features both Dante network connectivity and line-level analog input.

The modular design allows up to three MSA12X units to be vertically arrayed to increase coverage distance and low-frequency pattern control. The slim, low-profile enclosure mounts close to surfaces, blending in with the visual aesthetic of a space, and its digital control eliminates protruding pitch brackets.

An integrated mounting bracket allows up to 90-degrees of pivot away from surfaces. Design, setup, and control of beam coverage is provided by Bose Professional Modeler and ControlSpace software. The MSA12X is available in either black or white finish and is paintable.

Designed for use in houses of worship, auditoriums, museums, transportation facilities, lecture halls, conference facilities and theaters, the Panaray MSA12X modular steerable array loudspeaker will be previewed during the 2017 InfoComm show and are scheduled for fall 2017 availability.

Bose Professional is also introducing the new MB210 compact subwoofer, designed for background/foreground music and small sound-reinforcement systems that require low-frequency extension down to 37 Hz.

The MB210 subwoofer features two 10-inch high-excursion woofers, derived from the Bose Professional F1 portable powered subwoofer, in a compact Baltic-birch plywood enclosure optimized for fixed-installations.

The MB210 is designed to complement Bose Professional FreeSpace, Panaray, and RoomMatch Utility loudspeaker models with additional bass impact.

At InfoComm 2017, Bose Professional will also showcase the new EdgeMax in-ceiling premium loudspeakers with PhaseGuide Technology, which provides room-filling coverage while improving overall sound quality compared to the performance of conventional ceiling loudspeakers. (Shown above in top image.)

Designed for mounting near wall boundaries, EdgeMax loudspeakers project high-frequency sound throughout rooms up to 65-feet (20 m) wide using only perimeter mounting locations, and can effectively cover an area that would require up to four conventional conical-coverage models. Thus, EdgeMax loudspeakers can eliminate the need for conventional ceiling speakers mounted in the center of rooms, or surface-mount loudspeakers mounted on walls.

Because of their unique design and consistent coverage pattern, EdgeMax loudspeakers enable installers to move efficiently through the installation, creating a great-looking and great-sounding end result. Additionally, EdgeMax loudspeakers produce intelligibility for speech and full-frequency response for music, making it ideal for retail, commercial, industrial, institutional and residential applications.

“The new EdgeMax in-ceiling premium loudspeakers really create a new category of loudspeakers,” states Alan B. Shirley, product line manager, Installed Loudspeakers for Bose Professional. “Combining the superior coverage patterns typical of larger surface-mount loudspeakers with the visually appealing aesthetics of in-ceiling loudspeakers – which are preferred by most architects, interior designers and system integrators – EdgeMax loudspeakers can provide superior audio quality and coverage while reducing the number of in-ceiling loudspeakers required, compared to conventional models.”

EdgeMax in-ceiling premium loudspeakers are available with two different horizontal coverage patterns. EdgeMax EM90 models provide nominal 90-degree horizontal coverage and are intended for in-ceiling mounting near room corners. EdgeMax EM180 models provide nominal 180-degree horizontal coverage and are intended for in-ceiling mounting near wall boundaries centered along target coverage zones.

Both models feature 75-degree asymmetrical vertical coverage, which is optimized for ceiling heights between eight feet and 20 feet.
