Montreal-based AVL Media Group, the North American distributor of Lab Gruppen, Klark Teknik, Turbosound, Midas, Tannoy, Zero-Ohm Systems and Spotlight, has announced the appointment of Derek Black to the position of accounts manager.
“Having Derek join AVL is such a positive move for us and we could not be happier,” says Andrew Hope, managing director of AVL. “He is known to his peers as a consummate professional and, just as importantly, a good listener. Derek Black has been a professional colleague of mine for years and he always makes sure that the customer’s needs come first.”
Black joins AVL spent 20 years with Tannoy North America, which later became TC Group, where under the TC umbrella he was responsible for all aspects of territory sales for the Lab Gruppen, Tannoy and TC Electronic brands in the commercial sound and sound reinforcement markets. He’s also worked with QSC and HHB Canada.
“I’m happy to be reunited with my colleagues and to be starting this new chapter with AVL Media Group,” Black says. “Their level of involvement in design and install projects, both from a product perspective as well overall customer support, is remarkable. I see huge potential with all of the brands currently in the AVL portfolio.”
