Belgium-based AUDAC has announced the introduction of VIRO5, a new two-way coaxial loudspeaker with 8- and 16-ohm variants and optional toroidal transformer modules, available in black and white.
The VIRO5 combines a soft, silk-domed tweeter with a 5-inch cone driver in a coaxial configuration. The optional 70/100-volt line transformer enables it to be used in low-impedance installations. The transformer can be inserted by removing the back plate.
The aluminum enclosure and stainless fasteners have passed a 720-hour salt spray test to help ensure it stands up in demanding environments. To further comply with the IP55 certification, AUDAC ensured that the front grill is water repellent and that VIRO is standard equipped with rubber cable grommets for fixed installation and optional Speakon connect.
The included multifunctional mounting bracket allows VIRO5 to be mounted on walls and ceilings. In addition, there are several optional mounting adapters for poles, stands and ground pins.
