Adamson Systems Announces Additions To Energia Loudspeaker Lineup

Original e15 line array now joined by e12 module and e218 subwoofer

Adamson Systems announced two new additions to its Energia line, the new e12 full-range line array module and e218 subwoofer.

Like the e15, the new e12 is built around the e-capsule, a surrounding module constructed in aircraft grades of lightweight aluminum. This skeletal structure provides an accurate and rigid frame for mounting the modular Autolock rigging system, while simultaneously housing a series of mid/high components on proprietary Co-Linear Drive Modules.

The e-capsule is joined by a birch ply enclosures containing a proprietary Kevlar 12-inch woofer, capitalizing on the advantages of Adamson’s Advanced Cone Architecture.

The e12 can serve as a medium-sized stand-alone option and as a down fill and side fill with e15 arrays. It is a 3-way system, with the Adamson ND12S 12-inch neodymium Kevlar cone driver as well as 2 x YX7 7-inch Kevlar cone drivers and 2 x 4-inch (1.5-inch-exit) Adamson NH4 compression drivers. The Kevlar utilized in the cones and dustcaps deliver exceptional weather resistance.

Frequency response extends to 18 kHz, horizontal dispersion is 90 degrees (-6 dB symmetrical), and vertical dispersion is 6 degrees (prolate-spheroidal sound chamber). The cabinet, made of Baltic birch with textured water borne acrylic finish.

The e12’s Autolock rigging is designed for a single technician to be able to set all flying angles on the ground, with no lifting involved. When connecting the flown section of the array to the next flyable section on the ground, the cabinets lock together automatically.

The new Energia e218 subwoofer can serve as a companion sub for e15 and e12 arrays, and can also be flown together with an e12 array or as a stand-alone array. The self-contained rigging allows for curved or flat array when it’s flown but will also travel three up on a cart.

Within the manifold design are two new Adamson ND18S cone drivers with dual spider voice coil stabilizing design. The drivers are coated in silicone for long term suspension memory, and shorting rings are used to eliminate eddy currents and reduce intermodulation distortion.
