Work Pro Expands SoundNut Pendant Loudspeaker Range

Series features built-in transformer for 70/100V distributed installations with multiple color and finish options for aesthetic integration.

At ISE 2019, AV equipment manufacturer Work Pro Audio announced the expansion of the SoundNut range of pendant loudspeakers for installed sound applications.

The SoundNut originally debuted at ISE 2018 as a prototype design for a new kind of pendant loudspeaker with a variety of housings in different textures and colors, the principle being to make installed sound loudspeakers as visually discreet as a light fitting. Following a positive response, the first in the SoundNut range made its first official appearance at InfoComm 2018: the 400 watt SN-8, featuring an eight-inch coaxial driver.

Four more SoundNut models have been launched in Amsterdam to complete the range: the SN-3, SN-6, SN-10, which feature three-, six- and 10-inch drivers respectively, and the SN-8SUB, an eight-inch subwoofer for low-frequency enhancement.

All use the same basic design concept as the original SN-8. Once again customers can choose variations in the color and texture of the upper part of the loudspeaker casing for optimum visual integration with the surroundings, and the main part of the housing will now also be available in black or white. All of the models in the range feature a built-in transformer, and can therefore be driven via low-impedance or high-impedance (70/100V) connections for distributed installations.

“The SN-8 was always going to be the trailblazer for the SoundNut range,” explains Work Pro managing director Juan Jose Vila, “but the intention from the first was to expand the range to give our installation customers a variety of options if it was popular. The great success of the first SoundNut has ensured that the arrival of more models was only a matter of time.”
