Waves StudioRack Can Now Host VST3 Plugins By Any Manufacturer

With the V14 update, VST3 plugins by other manufacturers work within StudioRack the same as Waves plugins do; users can assign all plugins to macros for control of multiple parameters simultaneously.

Waves Audio has announced that with the latest update (V14), the Waves StudioRack plugin chainer can now host VST3 plugins by any brand, allowing users to create, save and load mixed plugin chains.

VST3 plugins by other manufacturers work within StudioRack the same as Waves plugins do: users can assign all plugins to macros for control of multiple plugin parameters simultaneously. They can also turn any plugin into a multiband tool using StudioRack’s multiband splits as well as create parallel chain splits.

Chains of up to eight plugins can be built from one DAW insert and saved for instant recall. Multiple parameters from different plugins in a chain can be assigned to StudioRack’s macro controls, essentially enabling the building of “custom plugins.” Parallel processing racks let users split audio from any point in any chain, into parallel mono, stereo and M/S racks – to add more punch, space, and presence to a signal without having to create complex routings in a DAW.

Further, entire chains can be saved with their internal routings and opened in any DAW, which can make it easier collaborate with others who use a DAW. VST3 plugins can also be used freely in non-VST3 DAWs like Logic or Pro Tools. Plugin search complemented by more than 170 presets for complete plugin chains.
