H.A.S. Productions – in partnership with Audio Visual Live – recently deployed VUE Audiotechnik al-12 line arrays for the Spring Fling show at the Red Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in support of headliner OneRepublic, with Gavin DeGraw and Andy Grammer opening.
The front of house system included left and right CST Hybrid clusters, each with eight VUE al-12 large-format elements, augmented with additional medium-format al-8 line elements providing down fill.
VUE’s proprietary Continual Source Topology (CSTTM) is designed to eliminate the disruptions associated with the use of mixed array elements, helping H.A.S. to achieve the precise vertical coverage required for the venue with lower hang weight and sonic consistency.
“VUE’s unique CST technology allows us optimum inventory use by enabling us to combine all our different al-Class elements into ideal arrays as needed,” explains Larry Hall, H.A.S. founder and president. “This gig was the perfect example. By combining the al-12 and al-8 together, we achieved exceptional near-field coverage with consistent fidelity, optimal line length, and minimum weight.”
For low frequency extension, H.A.S. deployed 24 VUE hs-28 dual 18-in ACM subwoofers spanning the front of the stage in a pair of physical gradient (arced ) end-fire directional arrays. The configuration helped optimize directional characteristics, with low frequency cancellation on-stage and wide, smooth radiation throughout the audience areas.
VUEDrive systems engines provided the power and processing the line arrays, while a pair of Avid VENUE Profile consoles, along with a DiGiCo SD5 desk, served mix duty.
Since adding the al-12 to its inventory in 2016, H.A.S. provided production services for a range of events, including the five-stage, thre -day Extreme Thing music and sports festival.
