Void Acoustics has announced the Venu 208, a new compact subwoofer incorporating key elements of the company’s Venu V2 loudspeaker series that’s suitable for a range of installation applications.

The Venu 208 utilizes dual 8-inch high-excursion woofers that are bandpass-loaded in a multi-laminate enclosure coated with textured polyurethane. It includes both speakON and Phoenix connectors with link-throughs, and the rear-mounted connector panel is recessed to allow the enclosure to be placed against walls.

Stated frequency response is 42 Hz to 120 Hz (±3 dB), maximum SPL is 125 dB and impedance is 8 ohms. Optimum performance can be attained with the company’s Bias Series of amplifiers.

A yoke bracket and type 75 plate positions are provided for wall and ceiling mounting. The enclosure measures 8 by 23.6 by 18.7 inches (HxWxD) and weighs 44 pounds.

“We knew there was a market demand for this type of enclosure – smaller and more compact, but with the recognisable and exceptional audio quality of a Void product,” says Mike Newman, head of sales for Void Acoustics. “We designed the product specifically with low SPL applications such as restaurants or relaxed bar settings in mind. It needed to be inconspicuous but still pack a punch in terms of the audio delivery.”
