Upcoming NAMM 2013 NAMM Show To Feature Several Improvements

Fewer ID checks, live music in new Grand Plaza, The Venue for lighting, touring and sound

With the 2013 NAMM Show opening in Anaheim in less than five months (January 24-27, 2013), the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) has announced several upgrades and improvements.

To open up more space in the convention center, registration will move out of the lobby and into surrounding hotels. With the show now extending to the outer glass doors, entrances to the halls will be open and there will be fewer ID checks once inside the convention center.

The open lobby will also play host to an exclusive Member Center, digital media hub, new product showcases and more.

“NAMM Members tell us that the show is a critically important part of their business strategy,” says Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. “These changes and new features are designed to help our members have a productive and fun time while they are in Anaheim.”

Lighting, touring and sound will now take center stage in The Venue, located in The Arena at the convention center, which offers dimmed overhead lighting and tall ceilings.

The new Grand Plaza is under construction currently, but will be fully completed in time for the NAMM Show. The plaza, which runs between the Hilton and Marriott leading to the main entrance of the Anaheim Convention Center, will include an outdoor stage for live music throughout the day and a place for Members to network.

Registration opens for attendees on October 3, for exhibitors on October 12 and media on October 18. Exhibit space is still available for the 2013 event.

NAMM Member hotel bookings open on October 3 with non-member housing opening November 14. Find more info on NAMM Show 2013 here.
