Ray Rayburn Receives AES Fellow Award

AES Fellowship Award recognizes long-time, valued contributions to the art and science of sound system design.

The Awards Committee and the Board of Governors of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) have voted to award K2 Audio Senior Consultant, Ray Rayburn, the society’s Fellowship Award.

The award recognizes Rayburn’s contributions to the art and science of sound system design, digital signal processing and routing, and electromagnetic compatibility.

Rayburn has been an engineer in acoustics, audio systems, and telecommunications for 40 years, and in addition to designing audio systems for some of the most well-known venues in the world, he has also recorded the Chicago Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra and Frank Zappa.

Rayburn is currently the Chairman of the AES Standards Subcommittee on Interconnections, and the working group on Audio Connectors, and contributed two chapters to the “Handbook for Sound Engineers, 4th edition”.

Founded in 2005 by Rich Zwiebel and Deb Britton, K2 Audio is an international provider of audio/video system and acoustical design services.
