To enhance the learning experience for students, Mahajak Development Co. recently equipped a new multipurpose educational facility at Naresuan University in Thailand with AV systems utilizing HARMAN Professional Solutions components.

The new 3,200-square-meter facility at the university, which is located in the heart of Phitsanulok province, can function as a single 4,000-capacity hall or be split into two smaller rooms. Mahajak deployed JBL Professional loudspeakers throughout the venue with the goal of providing consistent coverage for large audiences.

For large events where the facility is configured as a single room, JBL VTX A8 line array loudspeakers with 110 degrees of horizontal coverage are employed, joined by VTX B18 and VTX G28 subwoofers for low-end support. JBL AE Series loudspeakers supply additional reinforcement at the sides and rear of the venue.

The loudspeakers powered by Crown I-Tech HD Series amplifiers, with a Soundcraft Si Performer digital console on hand to facilitate mixes. BSS BLU-800 signal processors distribute audio throughout the venue via a digital audio network.

To deliver additional coverage when the space is split into two separate rooms, Mahajak deployed JBL PRX800 Series portable loudspeakers. This secondary system also incorporates a Soundcraft Si Impact digital console.

For the visual system, Mahajak deployed three 300-inch motorized screens with AMX audio and video encoders and decoders. An AMX touch panel provides control and switching of video sources.

“Achieving an effective AV design for a multipurpose venue is always a challenge, but using the versatile solutions offered by HARMAN, Naresuan University has created an exceptional collaborative space for students and visitors alike,” says Ramesh Jayaraman, VP & GM, HARMAN Professional Solutions, APAC. “We would like to thank our partner Mahajak Development for delivering a fitting solution that seamlessly meets the requirements of a diverse set of events.”
