Telefunken Elektroakustik will be exhibiting four new direct boxes at Winter NAMM 2017, including mono and dual models of both active FET and passive designs.
The Telefunken TDA-1 (mono) and TDA-2 (dual) are newly designed active FET direct boxes that employ discrete Class-A FET circuitry and passive transformers.
In the heart of each new Telefunken direct box design are custom-wound output transformers by OEP/Carnhill, made in the UK. The circuit boards feature gold-plated traces for maximum conductivity and are hand-assembled exclusively with through-hole components providing a secure and reliable connection.
The circuits are housed in a durable extruded aluminum enclosure with recessed metal toggle switches to engage a -15 dB pad and ground lift. The rugged construction is able to easily withstand the wear and tear of gigging.
