QSC Audio Components A Great Fit In New System Serving Barnum Hall
“QSC ILA brought the cost down and made the technology much more accessible, all while retaining the sound quality, coverage and power of a touring system.” – Joe Byrne, Pro Sound

Rutherford Design of Northridge, California designed and installed the multi-input, triple-zone, 70-volt system
The complete system is rated to deliver 152 dB peak output (measured) from a single enclosure
The challenge was to turn this classic tune into a modern piece that captures the attention of both old and new audiences
Though it’s a permanent install, it’s designed, even aesthetically, like a touring rig
Hardware options include four-channel mic/line inputs with software controllable gain and phantom power, CobraNet network audio input and output, EtherSound network audio I/O and AES/EBU digital audio I/O
“The frequency and dynamic response are phenomenal, and we had zero RF problems, no dropouts, and no ‘fizzie’ intermod noises.” – Jeremy J. Lee, sound designer
“It’s not the gear, it’s the ear.” There is no outboard EQ at all, just dbx 160’s for vocals, bass, lead guitar and piano. Everything else is notched in off the Midas.
The sound system is used for background music throughout most of the day, and during track events, it provides a mix of background music and announcements
T-RackS 3 mastering and mixing modules now available as single plug-ins
Completing the new software functionality is the ability to integrate with a Harman HiQnet system and send Venue Recall messages to equipment in the network
Pro Audio Solutions Director of Contracting Scott Oliver notes that his firm’s overall design goals for East West Church were not unlike those for recording studios
