Synthax To Present Audio Production Tools At AES

Company to showcase the RME Fireface UFX+ audio production interface and the ADI-2 Pro AD/DA converter in Los Angeles, CA.

Synthax (AES booth 1007), the Americas distributor for RME, will showcase the RME Fireface UFX+ audio production interface and the ADI-2 Pro AD/DA converter during the forthcoming AES Convention in Los Angeles, CA. The tradeshow runs September 29th through October 2nd at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Building upon the Fireface UFX interface, the new RME Fireface UFX+ offers features not found on its older sibling. These include MADI I/O (now with support for 188 channels), a more powerful DSP, USB 3.0, and Thunderbolt technology—making the new Fireface UFX+ the ideal solution to the most demanding recording, mixing, and monitoring applications. With the inclusion of DURec (Direct USB Recording), and RME’s low latency hardware and driver designs, the Fireface UFX+ is suitable for home studios, commercial, and broadcast audio production facilities.

Equally notable is the new ADI-2 Pro AD/DA converter. This half-rack design, plug & play compatible unit’s feature set makes the ADI-2 Pro easy to set up and use. Based on the connections being made, the ADI-2 Pro will automatically switch to AD/DA converter, USB interface, or analog preamp mode. Additionally, a specific mode can be set if required. The ADI-2 Pro is ideal for mastering and measurement applications, plus hi-res audio playback—making it well suited to studio applications as well as use in theaters and performing arts venues.

Mathias von Heydekampf, managing director at Synthax, comments on the RME Fireface UFX+ and the ADI-2 Pro AD/DA converter, “RME has a well-established track record for producing many of the most feature rich and sonically transparent audio production tools available anywhere. In terms of connectivity, the Fireface UFX+ offers unprecedented flexibility. Analog, ADAT, MADI, AES, SPDIF, USB 2, USB 3, and Thunderbolt technology are all standard on the unit. Similarly, the ADI-2 Pro delivers crystal clear, sonic transparency for use in a wide range of audio applications. With all its connectivity, this converter is equally at home in a high-end studio, a performing arts center, or in one’s personal Hi-Res Audio setup. I am confident that audio professionals will find these two new RME units deliver the performance, feature sets, and robust reliability they consider essential in today’s most demanding audio environments.”

The RME Fireface UFX+ Interface is slated to be available in October 2016. MSRP pricing is $2,999.00. The ADI-2 Pro AD/DA converter is scheduled to become available November 2016. It will carry an MSRP of $2.299.
